St Martin's (Roslyn Hoe)
|
A masterpiece by W M Robbins built in the Gothic style and faced in red and buff bricks. St Martin’s is an exercise in symmetry. The central bay with its pointed roof rises naturally off the porch below and the gables with their delicately fretted bargeboards sweep up on either side. The arch patterns in the brickwork of the gables echo the curves of the bargeboards as well as the painted heads of the Gothic windows. |
