Built in 1891 to the plans of local architect W H Gould, he used the perpendicular style which as its name suggests emphasises the vertical. This can be seen in the window of the large window that dominates the upper part of the street façade. The buttresses on either side are more decorative than structural and the one on the left continues up to form a delicate spiralet.
