         Novel Readers   

The Novel Readers meet at the convenor's home during the more inclement months of the year, usually between January and April and from October to Christmas.

The books chosen by the convenor are selected with a view to covering widely different writers, nationalities, styles and periods. The plots and text are analysed in some detail and readers normally come with a small selection which they wish to read and share with other group members. This generates much discussion and it is often surprising how widely opinions vary. Perhaps, because of this, participants become exposed to different judgements and opinions in a way which widens and enriches understanding.
