The German Study Group is a new venture which seeks to support the view that every U3A branch should study foreign languages.
Some half-a-dozen members, each of whom has in one way or another studied the language in the past, use the group to revise and improve their understanding. This is achieved by means of listening to tapes and careful discussion of the texts upon which these are based as well as through the occassional study of formal grammar.
The group meets for one morning a week for short, three week- 'terms'. During the intervening periods studies are continued on the basis of 'self-help'.
