We
are here to meet the transport needs of the elderly, the disabled, the
isolated, low waged and disadvantaged people of Ilfracombe and the
surrounding area. We
are a partnership that provides a single point booking service for the
Ilfracombe and District Community Transport Association and the Volunteer
Centre North Devon Direct Services Voluntary Car Scheme. Please
call us if you find it difficult to use public transport and need door to
door transport for a wide variety of needs on
01271 855951. For
example: to get to the doctors, hospital, social events, hospital
visiting, shopping. We will
endeavour to provide a service tailored to your needs. Phone
line open 9 - 5 Monday to Friday also with a 24 hour answer machine (All
services subject to seat space and/or volunteer availability) Volunteer
Driver Scheme Our
volunteer car drivers can provide lifts as you need them, within
Ilfracombe, to Barnstaple and further if required.
We ask for a donation to cover the drivers expenses to provide the
journey based on the mileage covered. Ring
and Ride with the Ilfracombe and District Community Transport Association The Ring and Ride minibuses have disabled access and provide door to door services around Ilfracombe, to Barnstaple and along the coast to Minehead. Please phone to book in advance. Regular Ring and Ride Services
A
typical fare is £4 return to Barnstaple, but please ask for up-to-date
fares. Please
pay your fare to the driver and all fares are for a single or return
journey. The same fare applies to companions /helpers.
Please tell us when you book if wheelchair space is required. ShopmobilityOn
Fridays The Ring and Ride Service can link up with the Barnstaple
Shopmobility on request. The
Shopmobility scheme operates to loan electric and manual wheelchairs to
allow anyone with limited mobility to shop and enjoy the facilities of
Barnstaple Town Centre. To
book a scooter or wheel chair please ring 01271 328866 giving them 3 days
notice. The
Ilfracombe Volunteer Centre can also loan electric and manual wheelchairs.

you help as a driver?
We
are recruiting volunteer drivers. If you are interested and would like to

or call in to the Volunteer Centre in the High Street for a chat. We
will pay for your mileage and expenses and you will need your own car with
fully comprehensive car insurance. This
