North Devon Spinners meet at Berrynarbor Manor Hall on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in the month from 10.00am till 4.30pm

Subscriptions £10.00 per annum plus £1.00 per half day and £2.00 all day attendance, to cover the hire of the venue and light refreshments.

Our meetings are informal with help and advice given to beginners and we have a spinning wheel available for people to have a go on.  We also hold occasional workshops and make visits to different venues and events.

A number of our members keep sheep including coloured ones and some also weave the wool they spin. We have a small library and try to keep up to date with new ideas and designs.  Young and old, you are welcome to come and see what we are doing.

Review 2006

During 2006 North Devon Spinners celebrated their 25th anniversary Kathy, Yvonne, Jess and Joan are still active members. Our exhibition held in August shows what a talented group we are, with demonstrations of spinning, weaving, tapestry weaving, card, braid and lace making, plus a glorious display of our work.

Arlington Court proved to be another display with many visitors enjoying our work. Workshops included felt making and needle felting. We must thank Anne and Joe for hosting our rainbow day in their garden, such a wonderful view fron their terrace.

Ann organised a trip to Bovey Tracey to the new wool shop, and the patchwork shop, the Devon Guild of Craftsman Mill, and most of us did the charity shops! and we had coffee at the House of Marbles.

During the year Barbara Jones had an operation on her knee, and we are glad that all went well. Jess spent awhile in intensive care and we are thankful to see her fit again.

Wendy has given up spinning and has donated her wheel to the group which we know will be put to good use. Sadly during the year we lost Jean Benn and Anne Cambell, two long time members.

Our thanks must go to Pam as our secretary for arranging our trips and to Kathy for her work as treasurer. We also thank Wendy and Jess for the supply of delicious cakes through the year.

We once again had a shared lunch for our Christmas meeting and Kathy showed us slides of her trip to the Azores, she certainly gets to some interesting place.
