On August 1st 1932 Mr. Mervyn Palmer opened the Museum to the public for the very first time as an experiment. There was free admission and an astonishing 1231 people came to visit! The museum is in Runnymede Gardens, next to the Landmark Theatre on Ilfracombe's seafront. |

The Museum
is the ideal place to bring visitors, friends and family. There are things
to do, things to see, both weird and wonderful. There are eight exciting
areas to discover from Bats to Buddhas. |
The
Museum is open every day, seven days a week from 10am to 5pm. Last admission
is at 4.30pm. Remember, if you become a Friend of the Museum, one of the
perks is that you can visit the Museum free at any time of the year.
